I have an old Deco ring that appears to be stamped 16K GOLD on the inside. Is it possible that it's 16K or might it be 18K and part of the 8 didn't stamp right? I can't post a pic of the mark. It's hard enough to see through a high powered loupe. The shank is bent and I'm having it fixed this weekend. When I told my jeweler friend that I thought it said 16K, he said he's never seen anything marked 16K. I'm going to have him test it, but for now should I consider myself loopy? No pun intended.

Cheryl:

Old-Prospector-Ralphie-and-his-ASS says that, after a quick search, it appears that 16K GOLD jewerly is very common...
