Thanks for telling us. Shouldn't I be receiving eBay announcement e-mails? Or have they stopped doing that?

seeing that eBay was doing 14 million auctions last year(2006-Jan) and even with the sale 2 weeks ago...it has fallen below that figure THIS year...think they are trying to "increase from previous" year.Someone might actually be looking at a new market strategy....NOT!!!!...man... I must have put too much rum in the pepsi!

I wish I had checked this post earlier. No email notice yet. I guess they want to see how many of us discover this on our own without email notification. A surprise sale!!

I checked my preferences, and they are set right, but I have still not received the invoice. Last time eBay Canada didn't send the notification to everyone, they extended it another day.

Got one in My Messages for my garbage account at 7 am today; my other two IDs didn't get. No emails for any of them.

Still no email message. I have always gotten them in the past. Some emails from Ebay have been quick, listing notices, others, messages to buyers have been very, very slow to get to my inbox. My preferences are fine. Used to get these notices early in the evening before.

I got my notice last night... but I doubt I'll be participating today. It's not enough of a discount to counterbalance the effects of a lower sell-through rate due to an over-saturated market. I do think it's just a ploy to raise numbers. According to MedVed's tracking numbers, they are doing worse than last year... and are in danger of dropping below 2005 levels.

It's clearly a diversion for eBay's upcoming over-priced fee hikes.

I took advantage of the promo but, judging from my non-scientific searches, not that many have. Hopefully, our sales won't be as diluted as in other promo days.

I think the reason that not a lot of people didn't participate was that everyone didn't get the notice. I didn't get mine. If it hadn't been for Jake I would not have know. I usually check the ebay announcements on the Canadian and US sites every day, but there had been a 10 cent one on the Canadian site on Wed. so I didn't think the US site would have one the next day. The Canadian one is not much good to me because I put a lot of pictures on my auctions, and Vendio does not support ebay.ca, so the only ones I can do are a few that I have with one picture. Thanks Jake! I wonder if eBay will realize that not everyone got the notice, and do another one soon.

Au contraire, mon ami. Five million new listings according to powersellersunite. I haven't been able to get much out of medved of late, always seems to show broken links. Someone here noted the PSU site (thanks, pixiamom maybe?) and it says listings are at 19 million, up 25%.

Here's the link:

I never did get an email notice, maybe that is their new method, check the announcements.

Also, Medved has not been very helpful lately. I emailed them in Dec about the broken images and they responded and told me they were moving and their internet server was not cooperating. Don't know what the problem is now. Will look at the other site mentioned here, thanks!!

Yeah Jack, main acct here OVER ten years, 3 negs, 2700+ FBs, 99.9%, did not get. Garbage account, two years, 81 FB, 100%, DID get in My Messages. Other one, four years, 100%, 101 FB, did not get. None of them got an email.

I simply couldn't get too enthused about this one though. Only listed a few, but was thrilled to sell one item on an FP (stuffed fish before it was destroyed in carting it to shows and having people fondle it). Thanks eBay!

Jack...
Aha, no, I have been on Ebay since 1997, have 1998, have over 3900 positive feeback with only 8 negs, so that does not compute.
