YUK...after being covered in 6 inches of ice/packed snow...with many roads still treacherous and slick...predictions are for 5-10 inches of snow this weekend! Luckily, my eBay customers appear to understand the shipping delay and I'm hoping for a "window of opportunity" to get the many packages piled high in my living room mailed out tomorrow. Unfortunately, I don't live on one of the snow-route streets (and not even all of those have been cleared yet!) so it will probably be a slipping and sliding trip...but temps are supposed to be 40 tomorrow so hopefully there will be some melting. At least we still have power which many in Oklahoma haven't had for 5 days now!

I've been reading about that. What a mess. We have been so lucky this winter in NE Ohio. We've had higher than normal temps and very little snow. We got our first taste of cold weather yesterday. It snowed like the dickens thanks to lake effect and the temps are only going to be in the 20's during the day for the "foreseeable future" (whatever that means). Up to now, it's been in the 40's and 50's and my plants were still growing outside. Odd.
The weather has been wacky all over the place. Be careful mailing those packages!!

San francisco bay area had snow in some areas and black ice. My car window was FROZEN shut this morning. I don't know how you all do it year after year. This last week of cold temps has really been an eye opener to the rest of the country's woes

I'm in Oklahoma City and, until about 2 weeks ago, was complaining about the "unseasonably warm November weather"...temps in the 70's...Never again! Ice storms like these aren't all that common...this is about the 3rd in the past 8 years but when they do hit, it's with a vengeance. Because they don't come that often, the city doesn't do all that good a job clearing the roads...schools are out for the 3rd day tomorrow...On a positive note, though, all the moisture is VERY welcome (and much-needed) for the farmers and ranchers as the droughts the past few summers have really taken a toll. So...some good will come of it all. In spite of it all, Oklahoma really IS a great place to live...it will be even better when all the ice melts!

Blue eyes when I lived in Colorado and we did get rain, snow or ice... I would always remind myself it was free water from God that I didn't have to pay the city for! We were in the 50s last week I felt like I was in Denver (years past, not this year!) Winter has come here with a vengence also. This morning 9 am its -7. We are warming up
off to get my auctions ready to launch tonight. ebay gave me ..us.. a gift cheaper listings worked right into my game plan for the week.

Jack - the news here said that there was snow at Malibu yesterday. Is that true or are they trying to make us Northerners feel better?

Roads are clear...the sun is shining...my packages are mailed...all's right with the world! Now that the layer of ice/packed snow is cleared off, guess the hard-working road crews can get geared up for the predicted snowfall for this weekend. Snow is, I think, a bit easier to manage than ice but am all "provisioned" for another weekend inside...May even get caught up on doing eBay listings. My sympathies are with the southern California folks who are having to deal with the loss of their fruit trees. Weird weather to be sure...

Blueyes if you print your postage at home and send USPS and the mail man comes to your house they wil pick up those packages next time you get snowed in ---MAYBE
I print at home and can have my regular mail man pick them up as he comes in his little truck to deliver so has room for them. On plus side he always scans the DC also so there is record of them being mailed that is a plus the PPL in post office don't like to have to scan them.

I thought of that, "irked"...and was wondering why I hadn't considered that option! I will definitely explore that. Do you have to print on special labels/stamps or will regular printer paper do?
