I just got an official-looking e-mail from "PayPal" informing me that I'd paid $348 for some kind of wheelchair for autism (!). I've sent it to [email protected]. No record of such a payment in my PayPal account, of course. But it did scare me for a minute there.

Just before Christmas, DH clicked on one of those "you won XXX" . He thought I had bought him something for Christmas and didn't think it would hurt to take a peak.

He had to fess up and ask me what to do when he realized that the link he logged into was bogus.

Another scarey... I accidentally typed PayPay.com into my search line this week. The website that comes up looks exactly like PayPal. Wonder how many people have set up an account with them????

I got two questions from prospective buyers about a tractor I was selling....not.
So I ignored them & of course I never checked My eBay.

Next thing I know I cannot get into my eBay account, kept coming up invalid so I contacted live help & the first question I was asked was, was I selling a tractor. I said no & was told that eBay suspected my account had been hacked so they locked it.
I had to change my PW & all is well.

The questions turned out to be legitimate because someone listed a tractor using my account.

What I don't understand is what does someone get out of hacking an account.

The scammers are getting very clever, even came across one with https & a padlock in the right lower corner.

Mcjane - bet your address is not the same address to send payments to on the bogus auctions!

I just realized you and I must have got the same email. I just opened a topic about it. The message came from bumpin27!

I hope ebay does something about it.

We received the tractor emails too -- funny because we seriously were considering listing a real tractor for sale - obviously changed our minds on that one! Sigh!
