Hey all .... I've got a problem. I have to scan in a resume for a friend. I need to be able to convert it from a .jpg or similar image into a Word document so that he can make revisions. How do I do that? Thanks for any help.

Diane,
You need to have a scanner with OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software. Most newer scanners have it, but they all work differently. Most allow you to scan text directly into Word. I'd pull out your scanner manual, and see what you can find (or Google your scanner model, along with OCR). I hope that helps!

Please read the friendly manual for details. You'll probably need to rescan the item and save as a tiff or gif for the OCR function to work (jpeg is a lossy format).

I just happened to think - maybe you could do the online adobe acrobat form? They allow you 5 free adobe acrobat files.
