We hope someone with a background or knowledge of Catholic traditions can help a couple of Methodist with no clue write a good description of this little Napco nun from 1962.
She is holding an object in her hand. You can see from the three views that it has a black body, gold knob on the end, and a scooped white top. It does not look like any of the communion spoons we find on the internet but it seems kind of spoon-like. She has a towel over her arm. There is a box at her feet with three objects. The one on the right looks most like a blue gourd but that seems very unlikely. Is it a cruet or flask for wine? The other two are round cup like shapes. Are they cups or containers for the host, perhaps? We are thinking the theme here is the serving of communion but wonder if we are missing something obvious to a Catholic.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm very Catholic, and I have no idea whatsoever what that is she's holding.
On this page, i think i see her, about 5th row scrolling down, in the center, alongside some other nuns, but the picture is small so i'm not sure. It says it is a set of 4 medical nurse nuns, But maybe you can email the owner of this site to see if they can answer your question.

You guys and gals are the best! That nun site is great. My sister has a great stock of nun figures and it should be helpful for identifying them. Actually medical was her first idea and that eye exam thingie is what it looks like.
She also has a backlog of Madonna and Child figures that we need to list. There is a very unusual one that I have been meaning to post. Maybe I'll do it later today.
Thanks again. -----o----o----o----o----o----o----o----o

I was looking at Napco nun items on eBay when I found a nun planter with this in the description: She accommodates a plant in her backside.
OOO! That can't be good! -----o----o----o----o----o----o----o----o
