I decided to bite the bullet and list an item on the new SYI form. I cannot get it not to show all my HTML. It makes no difference wether I try "standard" or "HTML", it all comes up written out in the description. Can anyone who is using the form help me please. I have to learn to master this thing before May!

How will this new form affect those of us who list through Vendio? Is the form going to be different here, too?

Just got my notice from eBay that, according to their records, I'm still using the old form. Nuh uh. Have used Vendio for the past 8 years.

I only list through Vendio too & got the same email from ebay....hope I don't have to learn how to write in code! That will bring a screeching halt to my ebay career!

i hear that the work-around for inserting html correctly in syi 2 is to use the control c (cut) and control v (paste) commands. i can't confirm this, though, as i'm putting off use of syi 2 until the last possible second.

If we only use Vendio to list - does it matter that we learn the new form? Won't that be programed in by Vendio?

Here is what Chris says from VENDIO

Hello,

We received confirmation from the engineering staff on this notice from eBay and Vendio users will not be effected.

The SYI form is upgraded, not discontinued. The old format will be retired, hence the push to these users to switch to the new format. As they list through Vendio, they've probably not visited eBay SYI lately.

When you list from Vendio you are not using any part of the SYI form, as your listings are submitted directly through the API (eBay's back door program for 3rd party listers.)

Your ability to list from a 3rd party listing service will not be effected by this change.

Regards,
Christopher

I use the SYI from eBay for my store, otherwise I am paying an extra 12 cents for each listing.

WOW.I will definitely be sticking to vendio. Ebay must be sending its employees to a stupidity school to make them even more stupid then they are. These people are sick and deranged.

In my mid-sixties, I don't like change, and it takes longer to learn things. I really feel that I need to at least try using the new form, so that when I am forced into it in May, I will be somewhat ready. So far, I have heard of no-one who likes the new form. So why is eBay changing it? Because something is old, doesn't necessarily mean it's not good, if it works, why change it?
