This little plate belonged to the mother of a friend of mine. It is unmarked so we have no way to research it. Any ideas? It's got a stylized, inscised design that sort of looks like a mythical figure. The finish is a semi-gloss. The back has a mottled look that sort of resembles the look of enamel on copper. Any information, ideas or thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks..

If you do list it, be sure to say "purple" in the title. Those purple people out there LOVE that color.

Will do, roadsmith...and I know, I know...my mother is a "purple" person and half of her wardrobe is purple...and the other half is angels! Am still curious as to what this is made of...it has a definite metallic "clink" when I tap my fingernails on it...any ideas?

Actually, it might be glass, "lady"...I really hadn't thought of that because of the finish. The area inside the incised design has a matte/kind of frosted look. Any explanation of the mottled appearance on the back?
