I cannot read the maker's mark (if this is truly a mark, not just scratching). Anyone? (A friend wants me to sell this bowl, but I have no idea whether it has any value. The glass isn't heavy, feels lightweight.)

I tried reversing the mark's image but don't come any closer to seeing a real maker's mark.

Looks like an amberina or variant. Hard to tell from photo if new, old, Amberina or Dollar Store glass -- but lightweight is often a trait of an older piece.

Aha! Amberina. The word was escaping me. And I didn't know that lightweight could mean older. A friend in his 60s said the bowl was from his mother's stuff, so I imagine it's fairly old. Thanks, you two.

It could be Viking - they made glass in this color and style. You may want to use Mid Century Modern Eames in you title - that's the kind of buyer that will want this piece.

Guys! I just squinted at the mark and it came to me in a flash--Blenko! They made amberina, so I have enough to list the bowl.

And now, further research tells me the Blenko mark was only etched (sandblasted) on Blenko glass in 1959 and 1960.

I don't know why I didn't think of Blenko - I just sold a piece this color - Blenko calls it Tangerine as well - I think.
