My favorite is a $16 4-pocket clear literature display - which sits neatly on my cluttered desk and holds up to 80 postcards in each pocket. it has a small footprint, keeps my cards safe, in order, as I scan them and as I list them. No more oops! the coffee slogged or knocked down by the cat worries. They also have them at OfficeMax in magazine size. I usually use the the top pocket for undeposited checks, Mo's and stupid Euros. Any other helpful treasures?

Sticky notes! I make out one for each auction with the ending date, title and picture 'name'. Then I put it on the shipping box so both my husband and I can know for sure what is inside. I am that 'odd duck' who packs each item ready to mail to I can have the exact shipping cost in the auction. Yes, I do have to unpack things once in a while but I don't mind. I have two areas of storage, a queen size bed for 'active auctions' and a pool table for 'sold waiting payment'. It works for us, bless those sticky notes. When the item sells I put the eBay number, price, shipping, and buyers name on the note. Of note, I only sell between 50-150 things a month, if I were a big seller the plan would have to be different.

My favorite office widget is a holder too. It was a gift from my sister. It is a little ceramic, computer shaped holder with an opening in the top lined with felt to hold my special computer glasses. I can't tell you what a difference it has made in my life. I have a different pair of glasses for the computer because the double vision correction in my normal glasses does not work well for the computer monitor. Before I had it every session at the computer started with a search for my glasses.

The one I use the most is called FileAway.
It's a neat looking icon for your desktop that you can use to easily file new documents into user-defined locations on your hard drive.
You can read up more on what software widgets are and what else is available via www.widgipedia.com.
My favorite gadget for the home office though, has to be my Powermate by Griffin technology:

Christopher - about all those downloadable widgets ... are they safe to download or do they have nasty things attached to them? How does one know for sure?

Hello Neglus,
Just be careful of where you get your widgets from. The ones you get direct from the Yahoo widget website or the widgetpedia website should be safe, but as always use your best judgment or ask if someone else is already using one that your interested in.

I think my favorite office widget is my electric stapler. Made by Panasonic. I've had it about 10 years or more. Never fails me.
don't like the rechargeable ones. I wanted another for another room but can't find them at Office Depot anymore.

My second favorite widget is my robot claw by Toysmith. Just used it to retrieve mail (with checks and money orders in them) that fell behind the bookcase. $4.95 and I use it every day...

My favorite office widget is also an electric stapler & of course those sticky notes too, couldn't get along without them.
niel I bought mine on eBay. It's a Swingline, forget what I paid for it, but not much. I like it, takes F4 staples.
Have eBay alert you when a Panasonic shows up. That's your best chance of finding one.

Not sure if it qualifies as a widget but my elect. Salton coffee cup warmer is my most used & loved item...followed closely by my elec. space heater. They both keep me warm and happy...
