I have to admit I was apprehensive when the Postal Service phased out the original Shipping Assistant. I put off upgrading until the absolute last moment.
But wow. This is one powerful program. Now I have, for free, many of the same features some of you pay for. I can quickly and easily look up any shipment online; no more wading through paper receipts. It auto-fills with saved address information AND remembers your preferences, so you don't have to specify weight and class for every label. Way faster than PayPal Shipping.
But here's a new use I dreamed up:
With SA 3.0 you can tell exactly how many packages you've sent to a customer, when they were shipped and if you do what I do (put the eBay item number in the Company field) you can tell what item you shipped them. What's cool is you can use this as a kind-of database for purposes of sending out gifts.
Say you've decided that you're giving away a Starbucks card with 5 purchases, a Home Depot gift card after 25 purchases, a $100 gift cert to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse after 50 purchases, etc. Without having to maintain a separate database, you can see how close a purchaser is to each rewards level.

Has eBay decided to let us have more photos for the same price? That would be the upgrade that would cause me to leave Vendio (maybe!) and just list right through eBay. As it is, I use 3 to 8 photos, on average, per listing. I also like Vendio's easy-to-read list of current, pending, and closed items VERY much.

Jeez, you must have thought I'd lost my marbles with my earlier post. It was late, I was tired, and I read "selling assistant" instead of "shipping assistant."
