Make sure you use (and update regularly) the Google Base Store Connector.

Here is a comparison from my ebay Traffic Report of referring search engines. I started using the Google Store Connector in December 2006 and it seems to have made a HUGE difference in Google visits to my store:

Kind of interesting to see that eBay search has steadily declined with Google gaining and even Yahoo increased slightly.

could you explain how one would use Google Base Store Connector for their Ebay Store? Thanks

It is provided by Google - here is a link to the download:
http://base.google.com/base/storeconnector

After you download it, it goes into ebay and harvests all the fixed price listings and then publishes them. There is no automatic update and the whole thing expires in 30 days (or when the GTC rolls over). I have been doing it once a month but someone on the IMA board suggested doing it weekly.

I use it and update everytime I put stuff in my store, usually every day or two.

Thanks, Neglus. I didn't know about it. Also, something else to keep an eye on is the keywords. For some reason, ebay keeps changing mine and I have to constantly change them back.

The main advantage of importing to Google Base is that it puts a direct link to your listing at the top of a regular Google search. It shows under "Product Matches" right under the paid featured items. Edited to add: this doesn't always happen. It seems to work with unique items

Neglus: Have you heard of anyone uploading their Amazon Marketplace items to the google site? The editor of the on-line newsletter, BookThinker, says he uploaded his. But looking at the Google link, I don't see anywhere where I can do that. I'd love to!

I'm off now to look at the store connector again, hoping, hoping. . . . .

I've never used that Connector but I'm also seeing an upswing in off-ebay sites in traffic reports.

It seems the same thing happened last year about this time when everyone was enjoying the stores in search. I wasn't really sure which was bringing the sales, Google or ebay SIS.

I'm not even sure how useful Google Base even is. Sometimes I can find my listings by searching Google and other times not.

In any case, today is totally dead. Not a single sale on ebay yet today.
