It seems as if the USPS is encouraging online shipping with the discounted rates for online postage. Does this mean that you don't have to stand in line to mail an international package now? Before you could print everything online but you still had to stand in line to mail it. Is that still the case?

I've been handing my (sometimes reluctant) mailman international packages for months; but supposedly you are to be present when he/she arrives. Always a hassle getting the shipper's copy stamped and returned. I could not print labels on air letter, so that was a trip. Now, I believe you can hand everything over with the new streamlined options.

No PayPal labels for 1st class international. PITA. I hear some of the other on-line programs do print Int 1st class. Want to comment Endicia or Stamps.com users?
So even though it appears to be cheap shipping for the customer, I won't be offering it. I would have to add at least a $3.00 handling fee to offset the extra hassle. Did one just out of curiosity this week and then had to stand in line at the post office for 15 minutes. To heck with that!
My postal clerk loves the new system though. says it is much easier for them.
A plus on the new International Priority is only one page labels. I used my standard address label for Canadian shipments this week. Much easier than having to use the multiple 2976 and additional envelope. Yes, they can be handed off it to the letter carrier. My carrier really likes the new label too. Only draw back, the label will not be scanned at pickup.
I have not printed any UK Priority this week, so don't know if it is the one part label or not.

On Endicia, First-Class Mail International:
There is a new label: Small first class.
It has all the customs information on it, including your electronic sigy. No green forms anymore according to my PO. So I just slap that one on and leave it on the counter with my other packages and wave at the clerk. He or she waves back.
I do have a deal with my PO that I can leave my stack of packages on the counter where there is no postal clerk working. No standing in line. One of the benefits of small town life.
