Extreme frustration this morning trying to work with the new SYI. I get three different errors:

1. When submitting a listing, SYI tells me the fees have changed. The screen comes up with all fees FREE. I hit Submit, and SYI tells me (again) the fees have changed. This time the fees are what they're supposed to be.

I have gotten this as a transient error with the new SYI in the past, but it's happened six times this morning.

2. The first time I hit Submit I get the "Enter the correct value" error. The values are correct but the screen shows the bid price and shipping price fields in red. It goes away if you hit Submit again.

3. A new one this morning -- can't remember the exact text, but it takes me to a new page where it tells me I've entered the wrong values and as a result nuclear launch codes have been activated. Just kidding about that last. I think.

I will get screen shots and post them later.

Now I cannot log into PayPal either. I get a 500 Internal Server Error when trying to access PayPal both directly and through an eBay link.

I DO WISH they'd hire some grownups to run the place!

Ebay in charge of nuclear weapons - now there's a scary thought.

I haven't tried to list anything today - but I did get multiple search errors this morning. It's really a wonder anyone can buy anything off of ebay.

AMEN! And replace all the broken servers while they are at it - THAT would improve the buying (and selling) experience!

I only go to ebay to revise items once and a while but believe me that's enough.
One of my items says that shipping is free and I can't for the life of me get rid of that.
All I can say is thank goodness for Vendio.

I was trying to list a page of DVDs to my store last night. I kept getting all kinds of crazy errors. I finally gave up and went to bed. I thought it was just me.

I have had the same trouble as fluff.

It took me 20 minutes last night just to launch one item.

If we are having this much trouble, just imagine what kind of trouble buyers are having placing bids.

One has to wonder how long eBay will be a viable site to buy and sell items.

I've had the problems when revising. Don't get me started on TurboLister 2. It took me about three hours just to get 17 auctions listed today!

Cheryl, I thought I was alone in being frustrated with TL2. That thing is such a system hog!

Fluffy, I've been seeing the "fee" error intermittenly for about a week.

Also seeing server time outs when trying to submit a listing.

And has anyone noticed 100% system usage if you make the mistake of leaving an ebay window open and idle for more than an hour? I suspect those darn banner adds are filling up virtutal memory. GRRRR!

After doing the Your-Fees-Have-Changed mamba for a while (now they're FREE, now they're not), I get THIS:

Do you think they put in the part about how it's something *I* did to cause this, just to infuriate me?

The main problem I have in revising items is the standard flat rate and international flat rate are no longer valid shipping methods. I have to change them to USPS first class before I can continue.

Spoke too soon. PayPal won't let me pay eBay fees. Oh, well.

Something I find strange is that we are told the old SYI form is finished, but when I try to revise an auction which I listed on the new form, the old one comes up to revise.

PayPal is down and has been down for me for over an hour:

We are currently performing weekly maintenance on the PayPal website and it is temporarily unavailable. We estimate that it will be available at approximately 11:30 AM PDT.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

It was up for a while, then down. Up long enough for me to log in and check payments (three people actually made it through! Amazing!), now it's down again.

I haven't seen it on the news yet, any news.

Post here if you're having problems. Maybe a thread with a couple hundred entries will get someone's attention.

Today's PayPal fun is that History will not load.

From the main page (My Account) click on the History tab. It times out.

I've reported it to PayPal Customer Disservice but since PP technical staff consists of two high school freshman huffing glue, I don't expect a meaningful response or fix.

I have been reading up on Google Checkout and some of the problems sellers have been having. It's nowhere near ready to be a PayPal killer.

PayPal: History still won't load. Great.

eBay: I'm getting a new version of SYI this morning when I list. Not the "new SYI", rather a new version of the "new SYI". This one displays my pictures full-size in the form, rather than thumbnail-size. It won't let me add pictures, but it does have a remove all pictures button -- which does nothing when clicked. They've also added a change gallery picture button.

In the Description field where you formerly had two tabs to choose from (Standard and HTML), the tabs are gone and all there is is a text box with my HTML.

If I go to the end of the form and click Edit listing, I get the old version of the "new SYI".
