BL claims to be eBay's third biggest seller. At long last they had something I wanted: a dress. Bidding ended at $1.29.
S/H was $11.58 for 1 pound. It arrived today via DHL.
The dress is NWT. It seems to be a return from a mail order catalog and I can see why: The embroidery on the bodice is kind of defective. It's perfectly fine for a housedress, which is what I bought it for, but if I'd paid $40 to a catalog and got this I'd be unhappy.
The embroidery defect was not disclosed in the auction, nor was the S/H (though you could get a quote if you scrolled all the way to the bottom and found the link). I think I see why they get so many negs.
Am I unhappy with my purchase? Nah. Would I buy from them again? Probably not.

I've always been amazed at their STR - FB at 90% -! Yet their items always get bids and *only* 1301 negatives this month!

I've bought from them several times. After my first purchase, I knew to always assume there would be some type of problem and now I consider that when I bid.
My first shipment from them was 1000 glass bottles. Box arived smashed. There was no packing material and it had 1 foot of empty head space inside so everything had been jumbled around. Many bottles brokens, etc.
Second carton arrived busted open. Broken bottles and glass shards everywhere. The UPS guy just carted it to the front door and dumped it without ringing the bell. I can imagine he was expecting an angry customer, instead I had a good laugh. Just thinking of that UPS guy chasing a bunch of little bottles rolling around his truck was too funny.
I recovered enough bottles to make it worth much more than my purchase price of $5 and 25.00 shipping.
So in summary, their shipping department sucks, their photos and description suck, and their customer service is even worse. They stay in business because they start it at .99 and let the market drive the bid.
What I have not been able to decifer is how they can keep relisting the same stupid auctions and pay the ebay fees. I saw them re-list one auction for 4 months straight ( or longer, I stopped checking on it) and they never changed the description or picture.
The auction was for a piece of plastic. The picture so bad that you could not determine what it was. The description was "plastic part measures xx" x xx". Crazy!

"I knew to always assume there would be some type of problem and now I consider that when I bid"
That's the way I think every time I buy from any ebay seller. More often than not, the item is not as described. So I just bid less and hope for the best. Sometimes I get a good surprise and items are much better than they were described. But overall its a crapshoot. No wonder buyers are leaving.
And I've bought from some of those drop-off sellers, they seem to have the worst packaging. Just throw stuff in oversized box and let it bang around during shipping.
