I think they may be peasants, but not sure. Any ideas??

LOL - I think you meant PHeasants not Peasants, Niel.

Marie Antoinette wanted to feed those peasant birds cake but lost her head anyway.

The tails look like pheasants but the rest of the bird doesn't - the beak is too long, more like a fish eating bird of some kind - maybe it's artistic license?

I would guess some kind of crane or egret.
