I SWEAR I've seen this mark before but I'm having a senior moment...can anyone identify it? I'm thinking it's from California...Thanks for any help. It's on the back of this plate with a beet design.

Really hard to see the mark. Can you take it from an angle so it shows up better?

Here are a couple more photos...they're a little better but the mark is really hard to photograph...it's faint and the pottery is a light gray color...Thanks for any help...

The second letter must be an S; can't tell about the first one. At first it looked like a U, now not sure.

Yes, Melcher, it might be just that...I checked the first photo again (it's oriented differently) and it looks like that second letter might be an "f"...Thanks..

How about Susan Frackleton? I found that name on Google.

Thanks, Melcher...would be terrific if it were her mark as, from a google search, seems like her stuff is pretty valuable. I'm getting ready to head out to the library to see if I can find more info...keep your fingers and toes crossed...thanks!

Library pretty unhelpful but got one tantalizing clue...Susan Frackleton worked with "New Jersey" clay which is gray...I've re-posted a new question with Susan Frackleton in the subject so hopefully someone who knows more than I will be able to help...Thanks so much for the terrific clue...helped tremendously!
