hi pixia,

just posted the thread in its entirety, as different components of Cobb's speech were brought up at various times in the thread.

Just read the posts from "gggsells4u" - there's some good stuff -
-Stores Tab will be in header
-UPS offering discount rates for ebay seller
-PS are going to be advantaged in Best Match search
-adding benefits/incentives to PS program
-anchor store will be $300 (not $500)
- seller relief: June 19- Aug 5th - lower FVF's from 5.25% to 4.5%
-and more - I am too tired to recite

I wonder if Bill is really going on Sabbatical (Scot Wingo blog)?

I love the postage discount. But, where are we supposed to "sign up"?

Good news about the store header tab- maybe they're not killing stores after all? A temporary reduction in FVF is OK - would have appreciated a reduction in listing fees more but will take the morsels they feed me. I still don't get where the lie is?

Are they talking store FVF's? They are 10%, not 5.25.

Amber - relief on CORE FVF - not store (Boo-hoo)

Pixia - I think that vintagepc's is playing on the term "ebay live" but maybe I shouldn't speak for her...Cathy?

FVF reduction is great news. Even if just for the summer.

Don't get too carried away. 5.25% of a $25.00 sale is $1.32 (I assume eBay rounds up). 4.5% of that same sale is $1.13: a 19 cent reduction.

That won't even pay for your Gallery picture.

And that is assuming you will actually sell an item.

Great time for the FVF reduction? For Ebay yes, not for sellers. It's the slowest time of the year for sales. This isn't going to even put a dent in ebay.

If they really wanted to do something for the sellers, then they need to reduce Listing fees and get rid of the nickle & dime garbage.

neglus,

yes, "eBay Lied" was a play on eBay Live. it's become popular in certain quarters and i just assumed that most people would recognize it as a play on words.

The powersellers getting advantage in search is not good. What happened to the level playing field?

If they can do that to search, then they had to have been doing something like that for a while now. Manipulating search so only certain items are shown?

I guess it shouldn't surprise me, since Amazon does the same thing. They never show all available items.
