Not sure if that may be Majolica...which usually does pretty well.

It holds scads of decorative appeal. I love it!

I don't believe the pitcher is Majolica. It is a very nice pitcher though.

not majolica, most of these are unglazed and spray painted. The paint would wear off with use so the condition of the finish had much to do with final value. Before the days of Ebay I used to see these sell for as much as $120.

If my memory is not failing me, majolica was made in Italy - now reproduced in quanity in China. And yes, the finish on old Czech stuff does come off. Used to see a lot of it with unglazed bottom and stamped Made in Czechoslovokia around in this area but I never saw high prices on any - even before Ebay.

If I am not butting in, I would say no! since it is tin glazed pottery earthenware not something that the Czechs did. Some came out of Spain but most found in antique shops in the US (and it used to command high prices) came out of Italy. Many repros made in China are to be seen around today which probably depressed the market although maybe not

Guess is 'Slovakia' and not 'Czechoslovakia'. You can see a similar mark on the last picture in item:

This time is almost readable...
