I have about 20 favorite searches that are supposed to be emailed to me daily. I have not received even one of these in over 5 days! When I check in my ebay, the status on all is still current and I can manually search for any of these, but the emails are not coming. EBAY SUCKS

Have you checked in your folder for scam mails. Or your deleted folder. Mine started showing up there suddenly.

I was getting my favorite searches up until a day or two ago. When I clicked on one of he ones that usually has 2 or 3 items if any at all, all of a sudden there are 34 items that have nothing to do with my search criteria.

My favorite searches are still working as of a few days ago. However I haven't been able to add any new searches for a week after the last eBay "upgrade". Perhaps it's related?

I am still not getting my searches. They are not in my bulk mail either. When I go into my ebay and click on my searches, some say the last email sent out was july 8 (that is today) I have not received any in over a week.

Ebay try and fix this.

I have a question of all you wise folks about search:

We live in the shadow of Mt. San Jacinto (CA). There is/was a famous San Jacinto battle (?) in Texas in the 1800s.

One of the searches I need to have is for "san jacinto NOT Texas." I tried putting in "San Jacinto -Texas" with that spacing, and I've tried other approaches, but still keep getting tons of Texas results, including KISS tickets to a concert over there somewhere. And just an occasional California result. What am I doing wrong?

(I can't use "San Jacinto CA" because postcard sellers don't always put CA or California in their titles.)

Hi roadsmith;

Here you go:
http://tinyurl.com/2xhpxe

I went ahead and added a "-texas" and "-kiss"; the results are from postcards.

I believe you just had a space between the - and Texas, e.g - texas instead of -texas.

Best,
Michael

Wow, thanks! So. . . I should have one space after San Jacinto, then -Texas; then a space and then -Kiss. (I thought I'd done that, but perhaps not.) I'll try this, and thanks so much for helping. Adele

I would run the search jacinto -(texas,tx) -kiss since many of us sellers use state abbreviations

Why are searches so complicated on Ebay lately?? It used to show items no matter what the arrangement of words, now if the words are not in the same order in the title as in the search, it does not appear. That does not make sense. If I search for an item and the title has all of the words in it I am looking for, but not in the same order or with another word in between the words I had in the search, it is not showing up. Really limited the results.

Order should not matter - make sure eBay hasn't inserted "+" between your words (see other thread)

Hi Pixie, they did insert +, when did this happen and why?? Buyers won't know to eliminate this. I didn't.

On eBay's Search discussion board, it looks like it was first noted near June 22, I was on vacation and didn't notice it until yesterday. See my Search MESSED up thread for links

My message to ebay, as this is still going on:

Message: I have not received my favorite searches in nearly 2 weeks.
When I log into my ebay and pull up my searches, it says I received
emails, but I am NOT. I have not changed my password, email or
anything. This has been going on, I am NOT receiving my daily emails
and it says I am.

ebay's canned message to me:

Dear ***********,

Thank you for writing eBay in regard to have not receiving daily
emails.

I am glad to help you in this matter.

********, I would like to inform you that please be assured that when a

person isn't receiving email, it's often because a spam filter prevents

the messages from reaching the inbox. Spam filters are designed to keep

spam (unwanted, junk email) out of your inbox. Unfortunately, in its
attempt to protect you from spam, the spam filter may also delete email

that you consider important.

It's possible that these messages are being redirected to another
folder
with a name like "bulk." The spam filter could also delete the messages

or block them completely.

Usually there's a way to adjust the settings on your spam filter to
prevent unwanted mail from getting to you while still allowing emails
that you *want* to reach you. To learn how to adjust your spam
settings,
please consult the Help files of your email program.

It is my pleasure to assist you. Thank you for choosing eBay.

Sincerely,
Austin P.

eBay Customer Support

My new response:

These messages are not being sent to my bulk mail. I am not an idiot, I check my bulk mail everyday and nothing has changed on my spam filters. On the other hand, ebay has been having nothing but trouble with search issues, etc... Please respond as your answer is not the answer to this problem.

UGH, I regularly buy from these emails, I am looking for many different items. What can I do?

Deichen, Not a good sign. In MOST companies, an alert employee would think - this is a sign of lost revenue - we need to fix it. At eBay - send the spam filter email.

Pixiamom,
I know, I have over 800 feedback and over 1/2 of that is my buying! I have over 30 searches, and I am addicted to buying!

I input all of the search info, because I DO NOT have time to check these out, regulary. This has never been a problem until recently. I am very frustrated.
