I LOVE MY MAVICA!!
They don't make them anymore, but there's plenty of them around. eBay, garage sales etc.
I picked up my latest extra at Goodwill. Sold my previous extra on eBay and made a friend and a profit.
Since most of them use a floppy disc only, make sure your computer has a floppy drive or pick up an external drive. There are some that also take a Sony memory stick in addition to the floppy.
Here's an example of one that takes either the floppy or a memory stick

I'm a Mavica maniac and am hoping it lasts as long as I do! When I got my new computer, I got an external drive to handle the floppy...more than worth it to keep using my Mavica.

I have a Sony Mavica that I use for auction stuff, a Nikon Cool Pix to carry in my purse and a Canon Digital Rebel for important pixs of my family!
The Mavica is wonderful and the pictures aren't huge files - which is great for auctions, etc... I will buy another (hopefully) if it stops working.
I also have a new computer custom made and I ordered a floppy disk reader for the pixs.

Just be sure to have plenty of floppy discs. they are not at office supplies locally much. You can get on-line and have them shipped. I really was surprised when I first went looking for them. Then after I thought about it I am sure they are not a fast mover anymore.
The system is easy and great for us.

Ditto on the Mavica! I keep thinking I should get one on the internet (used, I suppose), before they've all gone to camera heaven.

I'm another Mavica lover, wouldn't be without it & should also be looking for a used just in case.
If I were you I would look on eBay.

I am Sony addict!! I've had 6 Mavicas, no problems at all. I kept the MVC-500 when I bought a F-828 about 3 (?) years ago. I love it and did not want to let it go. Sold the F-828 about a year and some ago and got a DSC-R1. It's heavy, but awesome!! The swivel screen is very handy.

I have a Mavica FD73 and it takes great pics for auctions ( if I ever get back to doing any that is ) Anyway last weekend I found one identical to it at a garage sell and bought it to sell on ebay when I get back to it or maybe ecrater. Anyway all it needs is a battery I tested it with one of my batteries and it takes great pictures too. I am not in hurry to sell it as you can see I think no one has enough cameras. I also got a Kodak 5 megapix at same garage sell and it works great too. I have a Kodak of my own and just last January bought a Canon Powershot SD 630 which is a great camera and it takes close ups also-- so I am camera poor right at the moment. Also have a nice 35 mm SLR with loads of lenses and accessories and a Sony video camera. I have a very hard time parting with cameras it seems.
Edited to add: I also have a pocket Apec pen digital camera and a vivatar digital both of which can be a web cam and also an IBM web cam. I think I need to part with a few of them. LOL

If your Mavica ever "goes down", it will cost you more to fix it than buying another one at TODAYS prices.
Camera repair starts about $80.00.

Maybe you should make an offer to Irked and cut eBay out of the fees?
