I posted the following on eBay's community board the other day.
"I recently returned to selling on eBay after a long absence. I have sold 7 items in the last few days. To the right of those 7 items on my main page are the icons for post selling. I use an auction management site for this, but what concerns me is that on two of the sales there is an icon that is reading "payment pending on PayPal". That has been there for 3 days. PayPal payments in the past have alway been almost instantaneous for me and they is nothing in my PayPal account. What is the 3 day pending thing? . What is the deal with these icons?"
I received a couple of answers that bank checks to PayPal can take 3-4 days.
These icons stating "payment pending in PayPal" have been there a week tomorrow with nothing in my PayPal account. All of my info on PayPal is correct. Should I start to question this and email the buyers??

If I remember right, PayPal let me pay for about 10 items with a credit card before I had to register my bank account with them. I think buyers with unverified bank accounts may have their payments in pending for a while.

i think the problem MIGHT be, that the paypal address is wrong, in your eBay or in your Vendio? and when they hit "pay now thru paypal" it takes them right to where where-ever your paypal payments used to go?...
better check all your e-addresses everywhere. I have a hunch your customers paid thru paypal button on the auction, but that the payments are actually sitting out in cyberspace, as "unclaimed" (by you).

Thanks. I send out all my email thru Shooting Star and have changed all my info there. I also just re-checked my PayPal and eBay info and all is correct.
Any more suggestions. I would hate for the payments to be hanging out there in cyberspace.

ok etex... what i'm tellin you, is that you SAY your paypal account isn't showing ANYTHING,... not about their payment, not about pending... nothing.
believe me, if their payment went to the right email/paypal address... it WOULD SHOW IN YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT, along with whatever reason/details that the payment is in a 'pending' state.
something's wrong, somewhere...

i highly suggest, you email your buyers, mentioning that you hadn't listed on ebay in a pretty long time before this, and see if they could politely go check their last week's email from the paypal payment confirmation, to see which email address the payment went to.

Rereading your original post, I have to agree with Marcia. Triple check all of your PayPal email addresses. If none of the payments went through, something's wrong. Have you tried calling PayPal?

... also, from what you say, you had 7 items listed... did others of them 'sell' and get paid thru paypal, and went through ok?...
no surprise there either... i recently had used some old templates to relist some things i needed to list recently, and had forgotten that certain things "went here" and others "went there".... but forgot that i needed them all in one pot now. ....

Thanks again. I am going to check with PayPal. Two of the other items were paid by check and money order, nothing thru Paypal. That is why I figure that something is wrong, but the email address listed on PayPal, eBay and my emails that I send in Shooting Star are correct.

Do you use Vendio to list? Vendio also has your PayPal email address under payment preferences

etex... you need to check what your ebay listing template has, for your paypal's email address
you said you use an auction listing company (not vendio?).... which ever auction listing site you use, that is the one that has your old standard paypal/email address encoded ...
anyway... just trying to steer you in the right direction.
ask one or two of those buyers to check what they're seeing...

If you use Vendio profiles to list, you should go into a profile to edit (through Inventory Management) You can't see the Paypal address on the profile until you check Édit Payment (in very small letters). I've run into a Vendio glitch that has the Profile use the preferences active when the profile was created - it does not automatically update them. If this is the case, you'll have to manually update each profile.
