I've been stupefied since the mail classes have changed. I thought you couldn't mail First Class with DC anymore but it ain't so.
I use Endicia and they say you can use DC with first class only I could never figure it out.
Duh. All you do is choose to mail it as a PACKAGE instead of an envelope and you can add DC.
One ounce plus DC is $1.31 from Florida to Alabama.
Not as cheap as it used to be but at least I can still do it and track it or at least know that it's been delivered. I always paste a SCAN ME label on it.
Package (Rectangular) Parcels over 1/4" thick and less than 108" in combined length and girth (or 130" for Parcel Post)

I use PayPal to print my labels. DC is free and the guesswork has been taken out of the new postal rules. Even the postal workers don't understand some of the new rules. Sad.

Glass: Unfortunately not all the post offices know you can still have DC on First Class parcel.
I had a couple delivered with postage due (the difference between first and priority). So, I started printing on my label the DMM rule for them.

I believe FC has to be 3/4 inch thick at least at one point of the envelope to qualify for DC. I heard a great tip was to put a styrofoam peanut or two in the package to help meet the qualification.

Sad but so true. Don't even get me started on the new international rates - on line discounts or pick-ups. Rates never (from the website to the post office) agree anymore.
