hi everyone,

i just wrote another article that's in AuctionBytes today, about other venues postcard dealers are using to sell. just thought i'd give everyone a heads up.

we've had some success at delcampe. their server capacity seems to have been stretched to the max, though; the best time to list there is before noon EST. in the afternoon, when Europeans are on the site after they get off work for the day, there are some stalls and time-outs for now.

have fun!

I always have a hard time actually getting on Delcampe and when there navigating. Seem to time out or get the dreaded 404 with it.

hi Beth,

yes, for now, that's the biggest problem with it - slow servers. today it started at 9:30 a.m. EST. Delcampe is going through some server upgrades as well. i expect the matter will clear up eventually. it worked great until about late June/early July, when they began tinkering with new servers.

i'm going to go post to their technical board right now about this. feel free to post there yourself - there's strength in numbers

PS: I should have said that I saw your article this am when my AuctionBytes email arrived. Read it with great interest.

I am suitably impressed with both your writing ability and your computer skills. Good job!

thanks, Beth. that's a nice compliment, that you're impressed with my writing and computing skills, smiles.

i do think the site slowness at Delcampe will improve. it worked like a charm until May, when they upgraded some servers. since then, it's been stalling out sometimes. Sebastian, the owner, posted yesterday that he's aware of the problem and frustrated by it, and is working to fix it.

we have sold some expensive ($100 and up) postcards on there, things that sat on eBay and did nothing. so, all in all, we've been pleased with it.

I've liked playle's postcard auctions, athough I don't care for the website design.
