Lawyers make a deal. What a Joke!!! Kills 60 beautiful dogs and he will be sentenced to only 1 year in prison. Should have received 20 years in prison, that's fair. What do you think is fair???? Criminal System Stinks.

Unfortunately, the laws regarding the humane treatment of animals in this country are pretty lax. There's no great punishment for breaking any of the laws. If someone like Vick can make millions abusing animals and receive such a light sentence, where's the deterrent? I'm glad that at least he will be serving some time and that his NFL superstar status didn't keep him out of jail. I hope, though, that he's banned from the NFL and doing any endorsements. If you really want to hurt the likes of Vick, you have to hit them in the wallet!!

I'm sure he killed more than 60 dogs (are you referring just to the one's that will now be put to sleep?)
Although it is hard to place a price on canine life, it would be nice to see him pay a fine of, say, $10,000 for each dog killed ~ with proceeds to benefit the Humane Society and other charitable organizations. Let the funds go a one of the prison dog programs that give inmates pets as part of their rehabilitation. How about the programs that train dogs for the elderly or that visit patients in hospitals? Seeing eye dogs? Something that pertains to PROPER use of these brilliant and loving animals ~ the search and rescue dogs are incredible ~ there was an article in Sunday's paper about the military dogs. Vick's got the bucks ~ if he can't see dogs as anything more than pets or profits, let him put his money to worthwhile animal projects.
How about hitting him with having to give back all of the profits he made on this gambling ring?
I'm sure his future earnings are shot (bye-bye to his endorsements) but I agrre he needs to be hit in the bank account as well as do the jail time.
(I love my three dogs ~ they are family members more than pets ~ treated with the love and respect they deserve!)

As far as I am concerned that SOB should be put in an arena with a/or some dog's with his hands tied behind his back and let them do there job.
He should also be BAN from football or any Pro sport. A year in jail is a joke and he will get his million dollar job back. JMO

It sure is a joke. What an animal Vick is! If, God forbid, the NFL lets him play again, the opposing fans should just bark at him - loudly.
