Never, Never, NEVER take a check as payment! Especially anything to do with biz on CL. Let me say that AGAIN, NEVER take a check from a deal on CL...NEVER! There, I said it lound and clear,,,,,,,,one more time NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plus if you listed on Craigslist, it should be local for you. Very easy to follow up with the police on that one.

I get in the Apt. and there is one there already,,dumbfounded for a second then I realize She is the one who asked if I also haul the OLD one away too. Yup.......no problem, that THING is WEDGED into the spot,I Tug, I pull, I Curse, I try lifting it with my dolly it WILL NOT BUDGE.....I look at her, this is NO GOOD correct? Yes. it's no good, fine I Open the freezer door and REALLY start WORKING that thing OUT 1/2 hour later I have it OUT!!!!!!!!!!! Sweating like a pig.!!!!!!!!! Yippie!
I get that monster out the door and drag in the replacement,,,there is water all over the floor,,,,,,,,,would you like to mop up before pushing it in? she agrees,,,,,I take the old one and load it,,,,,,,,I come back in she says it's TOO WIDE!!!!!!!!! It won't fit! Nooooooooooooooooo,,,,,,,,,it was, 1 1/2 inches too wide,,,,,,,,,,,,now what? she said her HUSBAND could cut the counter to fit it,,,,,O.k. Over night I start thinking what the heck i have MANY Refers and most likely one that WILL fit........I call her,I can't do it now I am Going to a BD party,,fine..Next day, I decide to go to the BANK.........Teller to me, Jack, this check is drawn on a CLOSED account,,,WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..........
I get back with her ( I say NOTHING about the check) another try to deliver but she is going to Disneyland that day, now the weekend comes,,She is willing to take delivery SUNDAY night...Lady I am BEAT, MONDAY?
Now on sunday she also CALLS me and says she is going to SELL the refrigerator for $150. and she is giving ME first shot at buying it BACK????????? (BTW, I tape recorded that message from my answering machine,,, I have NO trust of this,Woman.
she JUST Supposidily BOUGHT it with a BAD Check for $295.00 ( well heck ya she can sell it for whatever cause she NEVER paid a DIME for it) I rush over with a friend to Exchange units. No reply from the door,,,,knock Knock knock....... nothing, we leave.......
Heck I can't remember what happened on monday,,,,,,,,TUESDAY comes,,,,,,,AHHHHHHHH, Monday she went to Disneyland,,,,,,,,,I went there about 8 am just in case she had NOT gone to DL yet....there was a MAJOR Horrible accident right by her place, time maker for me,,,,,,proof I came.......later it will play in....
The plot Thickens
Tuesday comes,,About 2 in the afternoon.
I have an EXCHANGE unit on my truck....I knock on the door, she answers,,,,hello, here to do the exchange,,,,,,,,,, She says i sold it,,,sold it? you sold it? to who? to someone on CL (she smiles).......I am STUNNED! So NOW there is NOTHING for ME to take in RETURN for this Exchange? Er' ah, how much did you sell it for? $250.00 she replies........
I compose myself,,,,,this is the crazy part,
o.k. this exchange will be $295. she says can I give you ANOTHER check? ( is this woman insane????????? Like I am gonna take ANOTHER worthless check?) Not really CASH will work,,,,she goes to the Bank while I wait and she returns with $250.00 CASH! she hands me the CASH and RIGHT then and there in my mind I say,,,,,,,,I got my money, now just back up like i am GOING to lower the refer off the truck but NO,,,, I just Frigging DRIVE OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!! Screw you , you CROOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I know,,,,she is going NUTS and WILL BE at my store within minutes,,,,,,I just Ripped HER off? I just turned her WORTHLESS check into CASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shure enough here she comes cell phone rammed in her ear calling the POLICE!!!!!!!!!! Thanks, Lady, CALL the POLICE!!!!!
Awaiting the POLICE she is spouting out, the POLICE will be NOTHING compared to what my HUSBAND is going to do to you!!!!!!!!
The Police show up, 3 squad cars,,,,I wave,they interview her,,,,,,,

She was Nothing but a deversion to keep Me occuppied while the MALE Officer did all the Questioning, back and forth, back and forth,,,,,,,,her , me, her, me,,,,,HIS observation, someone is lying......He was in a Rock and a hard place,,,,,,,,He WANTED to ARREST ME for taking HER money and NOT delivering,,,,,,,,,THEN, I presented the WORTHLESS Closed account CHECK,,,,,,,,,,,
(police) She said she stopped payment as the refrigerator did NOT work,,,
the BANK said the checking account was CLOSED....
Hmmmmm, so she SOLD a NON working refer for $250??????????? who,,,,,,,,in their RIGHT mind would pay $250. for a DEAD REFER???????? NOBODY,,,,,,,,,,she sold it and got $250 CASH, hahahaha, I DON"T think SHE accepted a CHECK as payment,,,,,,,,
that refer is RIGHT there in that APT. comlex right NOW, someone there bought it from her,,,,,,,,yes they did!!
Now she turns a dead check into $250 CASH to HER benefit.
I have NO trust of this,Woman.
