I am going to try a few. Labor Day is aways a mixed bag in my area. Usually the weather turns nasty, there is really no big festivities to go to except for an occasional parade. People are getting ready for back to school, and sometimes they are just plain bored, so they turn to the internet for shopping. What's the harm? If the items don't sell, you can relist and have a relist insertion fee refunded.I am happy Ebay is trying new promos even if they are not gems, at least they are thinking outside the box and trying to drum up some interest.

Merrie, that's a good point.
10 day durations aren't my cup of chai, and in categories where there are many identical items for sale, the ones that end soonest will get the most interest, but in some cases 10 days could work well.
Unusual items would garner more interest over a 10 day span. And if it's an item you're promoting elsewhere, such as to the news media or in your blog, I'd think you'd want that 10 day duration.

Fluff: I don't usually do 10 days either, 40 cents seems like a lot for a few extra days exposure and they are never really visible until the end and there is that prolonged turn around. I also added a BIN to many of them so I could have the best of both extremes - Buy It Now, or wait for 10 days, Buyers you make the choice (and hope for a rainy Labor Day weekend).

I accidentally set up 3 big auctions to end next sunday... I really needed the money. As of now, they all have bids, and 1 is already getting close to my "well, ok" price.
