I am trying to find a cached page of a pulled ebay listing. Any suggestions? I can't find it using the Wayback machine.

At one time Google was keeping all eBay auction pages, even for auctions that had ended long long ago, but it appears they no longer do.

I've tried other search engines, but no dice.
Not even fuzzy ones.

The Wayback Machine (http://www.archive.org, for those who missed it) itself isn't crawled by robots, so there may be other archive sites extant that you wouldn't find in a Google search results listing. I've been saying for years that someone needs to archive eBay auction pages but so far no one else seems to see the need.

yikes! Fluffy, I just knew you would have the answer.

Oh Well. I think I have the page saved to disk but must have it misfiled. Guess I'll start searching my harddrive.

Well, I don't have the answer. Wish I did.

There was a programmer lurking around OTWA a year or so ago, asking what applications people would like that it might be worth his while to write. I asked for two: return feedback automatically and archive auction pages. He implemented the first but declined the second.

I can't really complain; I get to use the feedback thingie for free so far and I used to pay Vrane $20 a month for something similar. Wish I could remember the name of the site that has that tool.

Let's keep that as a given.

There are numerous other webscrapers that catalog the eBay sites. Try the Yahoo or Dogpile search engines for a start...

Did that. Doesn't work.

Here's the title from my auction that was pulled:

My hatpin collection some vintage some not

Knock yerself out.

Search your web browser's cached files.
