I shipped a small packaged book in a bubblewrap envelope within the state of illinois on about Sept 5th it is now Sept 19th and it still hasn't arrived at the customner who is concerned. below is the routing information to date. I did check the package shipping label receipt (I use the two per page labels with top as label and bottom as receipt) and it is correctly addressed & zipcoded with laser printed label with EDC barcode etc. So far the package seems to have gone from illinois to missouri to memphis where it has been on vacation for quite a while. Any advice on how to proceed?

wait......
I had a box of HAMSTER TUNNELS "missing" for two weeks. 1st thought, well maybe a postal worker needed to update his cage. 2nd thought was that because it was shipped in a box that reams of paper came in, maybe the post office stored it in their supply cabinet. Tracking number basically showed it from my town to another mailing facility...end of line...nothing for weeks.
Customer received the package yesterday....
This year has definitely seen an increase in "lost" packages...

I just had a customer ask me where was her package, I sent it to a PO Box % of and finally called the PO the box holder, had not PU her mail for 5 months, here in lyes the problem !!

call the USPS 800 number,they may be able to give you some insight why it is in Memphis TN.

update on 9/21/07 the package arrived at the customers address. YEAH!

USPS is getting very mysterious lately. I had package returned as "Unclaimed." Why didn't they just leave it at the address written on the package?? It is a correct address, no signature was required. It was mailed on 6/18 and returned to me today, 9/24!!
Sticker says it was returned to sender on 8/31 and it arrived here today. This is the second time in a month this has happened.(2 different buyers) The buyer is still buying on Ebay. The address is still the same. What the heck is UNCLAIMED!! Just deliver the package!!
