I've gotten 2 negs and a neutral recently from people claiming I never responded to their emails.
I can only conclude that none of the three understand about spam folders or about the Messages section of My eBay.
When you try to work with people to resolve issues and they haven't a clue about email, it makes your job more difficult. I'd rather realize a few cents less per auction than have to deal with the deliberately clueless. The frustration, of course, is that you can't even tell them to get a clue because they don't know how to use email with eBay.
I'm thinking of having my sweetie write a script that will automatically send email to each new bidder asking them to confirm their bid, else it will be cancelled.
It won't help with last minute bidders, of course. I'll have to start monitoring auction ends more closely. Sigh.

This has got to be one of my biggest pet peeves, especially with customers on my website during the holidays. I wrote an article about it about a year ago, posted it on my website, and put a big link to it on my home page. At least a few of my customers did read it. I included a note that if they are missing my emails to them, they are missing other important emails as well.
I still keep a disclaimer on my "contact us" page where I tell them that if they don't think they've heard back from me within 24 hours to check their bulk email or spam folder and to make sure that their email settings are set to accept email from our company address. I still have customers who are clueless, even though they obviously had to go to the "contact us" page in order to send an email to me.

fluffy... i thought you've mentioned many times over the years that you just don't answer any (or most) email questions on your ebay listings (and with the number of auctions you run, it's no wonder.) ....

Jack - you aren't ALLOWED to state that you take CASH or to require CASH only in your auction listing. I don't know what eBay would do if the buyers files a SNAD but you might be in hot water even if they are dirty scumbag scammers.

That's a great postcard, neglus. Obviously it's from the original California Zephyr...look at those postwar hairdos.
The original California Zephyr was a joint effort of three railroads. Today's Amtrak CZ covers much of the original route, but for service and style it's a pale imitation.
