I had some little vintage pieces of jewelry that i wanted to keep the postage cost down on, for the sake of getting people to bid on them (LOL)... i think i charged like $1.75 in s/h field.
...anyway, i filled out the addresses on the envelopes and wrote on the left, "hand stamp please", wrapped each lil' piece in bubble wrap and put them in. ...took them the post office and the clerk tells me, "we actually don't hand stamp anything anymore... all envelopes go thru the machine... so next time you have something like this, put it in a box."

...i think my point was, used to be able to wrote "hand stamp" on an envelope or ANYthing you wanted to send thru the USPS. ... i sell shirts, and put individual ones in big white plastic mail envelopes, and i'm sure those fleece sweatshirts and hoodies can't go thru a machine. i feel like this gal was just giving me a line of bull.
