I have several pieces of Noritake in the "Evana" pattern. This is an 8" oblong bowl but I'm not sure what to call it beyond a relish bowl. It's from 1" to 1.5" in depth. Any ideas?

Looks more like a "Shirley" to me, Fluff. I can see Boo Boo Kitty nearby...

Okay, relish dish it is! Thanks, Niel. But I also like Laverne or Shirley.

It MAY be an underplate for a gravy boat....

I suppose that could be it, too, although most of the underplates I've seen weren't so deep.

I call them serving dishes. Great for veggies, taters, dressing, etc have 3 or 4 about the same size we use for the t-day family dinner. Not this pattern ours came from relatives that have passed on. a couple may have been in the family a 100 years or so or bought years ago at a chuch bazaar.
