Can anyone help identify this medal, as you can see it has a eagle holding a snake it on a shield and says USA on the back is 1940 then official member number C 00711 Then in Caps ROA the O has two keys through it. it is about 3/8" thick and on the edge are numbers and letters. It look like it used to open, on one edge are the numbers and on the other edge are the letters. Maybe a combination to get it open??
Don't know if I did the photos right but here is a try.And try again, and again LOL
Any help would be great !!

Looks very much like a DECODER RING kids got by saving cereal boxtops or (rememmber "A Christmas Story" Ralphie saving OVALTINE slips for joining LITTLE ORPHAN ANNIE?)...
"The 1940 model decoder was a real beauty. It had an eagle, shield and American flag on the front, with 1940, the skeleton keys and "ROA" on the back. Each was individualized with a unique serial number stamped on the back. The numbers and letters appeared on the edge of the wheel, rather than on the front or back"

Guys, thanks so much. Never in a million did something like that occur to me. I am old enough I should remember something like. Was not a big Annie fan but had the Capt. Marvel and they shadow stuff, the ring to look around the corner and so on.
Thanks again.

Beth It is not in good shape, the front is pushed in and it does not turn and as you can see in the photo no pin. If you are still interested let me know. I may soak it and see if I can get it to turn
