I don't have a grudge against Scot Wingo, if that's what you mean.
I just think certain things he says are ludicrous, e.g.:
If fixed-price is near-free, then sellers will abandon the auction format immediately.
Oh really, Scot? What about all the folks who still love the thrill of the auction? I cater to 'em and I'm far from the only seller who does.
Isn't that what eBay's Bid Victoriously campaign is all about?
I think eBay understands that it doesn't work particularly well as a gumball machine: Plug in a nickel, get a gumball. It's way more fun if there's some suspense.

Hmmm. I might not mind near-zero listing fees with high FVF. Now, stupid sellers in my category price their items way too low, not taking into account the listings fees of items that don't sell and low sell-through rate in our category. Category-specific rates make sense if eBay polices and pulls listings put in the wrong category.
