Wonderful to wake up to three emails that packages have not arrived. All have DC and of course all do not show as delivered. They were mailed on 12/13, 12/14 and 12/19.
Anyone else?

I had one take 22 days, and that was before the Christmas rush. Will no longer use Parcel Post.

Well I have filed all three as MIA via:

They were all first class parcel because of size.

As far as the last month,my packages arrived faster than in previous years. And for the first time on E-Bay in 10 years, none where lost.

I got the impression that this was not a busy Christmas season for USPS. I ordered something media mail from an Amazon Marketplace seller in the week before Christmas, and granted, it only had to travel from Kentucky to Indiana, but it arrived in about two days.
I have never seen media arrive so quickly during the holidays.

I have had several Frist Class packages take 3 weeks in shipping this month. All to the est coast shipping from Florida.
Luckily they were all scanned at the Jacksonville distribution center along the way.
They were shipped from Panama City, FL and it took from 3 to 5 days for them to show up in Jacksonville which is normally an overnight trip as the bulk mailing center in Jacksonville is usually the sorting facility for some of our first class. No explaination as to why they were delayed but they often sat in Jacksonville for a few days.
When the customers did finally receive the packages, they appeared to be fine. I use online postage and the labels had not ben replaced so who knows why they were delayed.
Ironically, one package to Reno took 21 days while another 1st class to Sacramento was delivered in 2 and they were both dropped off at the post office at the same time.
. When your ship comes in.... make sure you are willing to unload it. .

I have one mailed 12-18 to New Mexico.
It was scanned in Denver, Co as processed and left their facility on Dec 21. Why did they scan it?
I received another email today from customer they have not received. Why did they scan in Denver? Would it be scanned again at delivery?

LtRay,
"I have had several Frist Class packages ..." Given his lack of support for stem cell research, I would never call Frist a class package
Just kidding around, I promise

This continues and it is driving me nuts. The package mailed 12/17 finally arrived on January 4th. More missing from 12/20 and 12/21.
Mind you ALL my packages have Delivery Confirmation.
Now I have people from 12/26 and 12/28 complaining that their packages have showed yet. I think it is a little early for them to be whining since they paid for first class not Priority.
New Year's Resolution: All packages in December will be mailed Priority mail only OR take the month off.
Ranting completed.
As an aside I did upgrade to the Endicia that allows you to print a Scan manifest of all your DC's and now it shows that they were accepted at my PO. Customers also get an automated email that lets them know their package was accepted at the PO. Hopefully that will help this situation.

I won an auction from a Canadian seller for a unique photograph. I was not expecting instant delivery because he required payment with a money order. After six weeks I began to be concerned. Wrote a "when was it mailed" email and it came the next day. I don't bug sellers but I have an almost suspicious feeling that writing a polite email with an edge of panic seems to help the package to arrive. Sometimes it arrives (as this one did) with a postmark from the date the seller says it was mailed. In a couple of cases lately the postmark was the day I sent the "when was it mailed" email.

Do you hand write that addresses on the packages, or do you print out a shipping label and attach it to the package?

Stonecold:
If that question was addressed to me...I use Endicia. So all my labels are printed with confirmed addresses (zip+4 withdelivery barcode underneath the addy) and delivery confirmation next to addy
Big yellow SCAN ME PLEASE stickers and I highlight the DC in GREEN like the regular labels.
I have to think it is my local podunk PO or San Antonio that is having the problem. Unless San Antonio mail goes somewhere in the Midwest for further processing and maybe the storms slowed them down.
But the packages are all over: NV, NJ, NY, CA, and FL to name a few.
