I started to list yesterday, and I think I got more bids and questions than I have had in the last 2 months! If I didn't get the heads up early about the 10 cent listing day, I would not have had anything ready. Only got about 40 done because I was so busy sending emails. People were asking me thing like, can you give the postage on 2,4, 5, 8 10 and 20 skeins of this yarn. I have to find the yarn, find a box to fit, weigh and measure etc.
I got one question yesterday asking how much 6 skeins of yarn to NJ would cost. I gave them the cost. This morning I find she has bid and paid already. Great, except she bought 14 skeins. I sent an email saying that the postage rate I gave was for 6 skeins, so she had not paid enough. She wrote back and said she didn't realize it would cost more if she ordered more. What planet do people live on! Surely everyone knows that the more a package weighs, the more it costs.

Amber - Do you have your invoice set to not allow the buyer to change the costs? Hope I put that right. If not, you should do that. My buyers cannot make any changes to the invoice. Even if they pay right after the auction ends, they have to pay whatever I have the shipping set at. If they don't wait for me to "combine" they end up paying more because they pay shipping for each individual item instead of the combined cost.

I have the same thing, people asking the stupidest questions. It was bad enough having to go to work and come back to do the listing. I see Fluff has something about cats on her site..gotta go check it out.

Cheryl: Because I sell Internationally, and sell yarn by the ball, it is impossible to put shipping costs in my auctions. I have to weigh and measure each package according to how may balls someone buys, then it is different for every state, Canadian province and country. That is why I run into problems. The buyer last night sent the payment right after bidding, but more than doubled the amount she enquired about. I didn't even send the invoice. I was a bad seller again, and went to bed in the night!
