This year has been really beautiful too. The snow that we have gotten this year has stuck to the trees as well. Usually the wind will knock it down and they look bare, but right now, it is really great looking throughout the Twin Cities.

I hope that ice is not building up onto the roof. I can remember the years in Lake George, NY, when I had to go onto the roof and shovel the snow off, so the ice would not continue to build up. I 'fondly' remember the year that the water came into the house because of the ice buildup under the eaves. Oh yes, I remember it well.

No icicles here, but my one camellia bush just burst in bloom -- that's the red for the holidays here in Lowcountry, and without fail, at least one bud opens on Christmas eve every year.
Happy new year to all of you!

Now if the sun would only show up, it would really be beautiful.
But I guess I can wait another 2 weeks to see one of these again.

Oh my goodness, what beautiful pictures! All we have here in Indiana is very old, dirty and mostly melted lumps of snow in the parking lots.

That picture of the trees is great. It looks just like that in most areas of the Twin Cities right now. We will usually get that once of twice in a winter season, and it will usually last for just a handful of days, but so far this year, we have had an extended period.
People ask how we can stand to live in Minnesota with our harsh winters. That picture is one reason why.
