TV goes 100% digital 2/18/09
The government is giving away coupons for 40.00 off on a converter box & you can get one even if you already have digital TV.
There is a limit as to how many they are giving away & I think you have 90 days to use it so sign up right away.
The coupons are for people who do not have digital & also for those that do, but have a spare TV using an antenna.

I wonder how many folks are still wiggling rabbit ears every night? Can't be that many. Wonder if they still get Jack Benny and The Honeymooners?

As I understand it, it won't work on anything other than over-the-air signals, i.e., what you receive with an antenna.
I have one last non-digital TV, in the guest bedroom. It worked fine with cable, but I haven't even bothered hooking it up since we switched to Verizon FIOS. Maybe I should try it with an antenna, but I don't think it will work. Although we're close to NYC, the signal around here is screwy.

We still have two little used TVs on antennas. One by my computer that I watch once in a blue moon and one in my office that I watch while I am filing slides. Guess I could live with out either of them if I need to.
