14K, Sterling or any Jewelry would it hold a smoke odor?

My guess, as precious metals such as GOLD & SILVER are both inert and non-porous substances, that they CANNOT absorb "odors" -- but this is just a "guess" by a worthless ENGLISH major...

I don't see how it's in anyway possible & besides both are washable even if they could.

That's what I also think, washing 14K with soap and water is ok since it's precious metal, and the same for Sterling. I also don't think it can hold odors.

tomwill is right, they cannot absorb odder. They may have a tobacco smell but it will just wash off. From a antiques dealer of 40 years dealing in jewelry among other things.
