I sold an item from on 1/12 - buyer sent a personal check which I received on 1/16 and cashed on 1/17.
On the 1/22 she wrote me and asked where her items was. I replied that I had just received her check a few days earlier and that there is a 15 to 30 day hold on all checks (this is in my TOS in 2 places).
I shipped on 1/29 (sent notice to her via paypal) and on 1/31 she filed an "Item not received" with ebay - my first one ever in almost 10 years on ebay.
She received the item on 2/2 and closed the dispute. She left me great FB and didn't even chip my stars as far as I can tell.
I can't decide what, if any, FB to leave her. I feel it was totally unnecessary to file a dispute. I'm sure it didn't hurt me anyway but it still ticks me off. I swore I would leave a negative but now it seems petty.
OH BTW she is a seller too.

The new rules are closing in I feel the need to neg somebody before its to late.

I have had several buyers recently file "item not received" with Paypal. I always explain when I receive the payments that mail from Canada to the US can take up to 21 days to arrive, but some people don't read the email of course. The item has always arrived and they have closed the dipute and left me positive feedback. In most cases, I have left them positive also.
BTW we soon won't be able to leave neg. or neutral feedback, so buyers are going to walk all over us!

I have no idea what her being a seller has to do with it...but I also can't understand why you would even consider negging her...You got her money, she gave you +feedback. ...deal done. Negging her IS petty, illogical, and unreasonable.
Maybe this is one reason why ebay decided to take away seller's right to give feedback.

I can't see any reason to leave anything other than POS. You might want to say something like "An honorable buyer; a bit impatient but good".
Personally, I'd give her a POS and go about my business.

international buyers are always "fun"...have one now that bought an item...within 10 days she files an item not recieved. Personal email to me says it was a birthday present...where is it? Tried to explain lately international orders are arriving between 15 - 30 days. So she files a dispute in paypal, well that made a couple of red flags go up. She is actually a seller of the SAME items...hmmm....order an item from an international seller for a birthday present, when you sell the same stuff yourself??? This is gonna be a no-win transaction for me. NO priority, so NO tracking...but a negative would sure feel good before they are gone...

mingotree - chill out!! This is not a life or death issue. I thought it would be fun to talk about something other than the pending changes.
Being a seller, she should better understand & read TOS was my point. Her next to the last statement on the dispute was "the post office in my area often loses stuff" - so contact the post office or me, not ebay!!
"Maybe this is one reason why ebay decided to take away seller's right to give feedback." Like a buyer has never left a petty, illogical, and unreasonable FB.
I think I won't leave any FB at all or POS but something like Cash suggested.

It would appear to me that the buyer was just covering their rear end. They only have so much time to file just like sellers for NPB's.
Since she cancelled the dispute as soon as she received the items, I would say this is the case.
She deserves nothing short of a positive feedback rating.

I wouldn't leave any. Being a seller she knows how it is with personal checks. It's almost like she didn't trust you, but she wanted you to trust her & mail before the check cleared.
Also she could have emailed or called you rather than file an INR.
Do as Ralphie says, no FB & block.

Just think about the choice you have NOW, How about when the new FB comes into play you will not need to make a choice... the choice will be made for you by Ebay, either leave positive or nothing.
What has happened to you will just get worse for all of us sellers if we don't all stick together and try to make changes by boycotting Ebay
I would leave a Positive since it all worked out at the end, but I do understand how you feel since everything is listed in your auction about holding checks.
Like you said, she is a seller so I'm sure she did understand what you wrote but decided to cover her investment before it got too late.
