Yes, after 40mins on hold, I finally was connected with machine-gun mouth: Bangalore Baba who reversed the bogus charges...

I then had to cancel my card & re-order a new one...what a PITA

Hi Tom

Same thing happen to me..one day I looked and saw two charges that I did not reconize so I called paypal and told them I don't know who those charges are from. So right away they canceled my card and issued me another one.

And I said the same thing you said " how did they get my card #?

It took two weeks before the new card came and in that time I went to check paypal and then I remembered who the charges were from. It's just that they used a different name then the name they told me they were going to use. Paypal could not reinstate my old card.

I made a big mess for myself when that happened cause I had to go into all the sites that I use paypal to make instant payment with, it was just a mess I made for myself.

Good question!

When I discovered his sneaky subscription to "Play-Pup Magazine" and especially galling was the extra $10 for the "Swimsuit" edition (Ugh, barf) with those tawdry beeches running around in shockingly revealing thongs, I PUT MY FOOT DOWN & cut up all his cards!

I'm glad you alerted me to the possibility (probability?) of him sneaking into my bood-whar in the middle of the night...

But, NAH! He wouldn't do THAT to his Daddy, would he?

Tom & Ralphie,
Sorry to hear that awful news but this happened to my hubby as well a few years back. But the difference here is that he only used Paypal once to buy a computer from a company(not through Ebay). He discovered that there were charges up to $4,000.00 that were taken from his bank account. He immediately got on the phone with his bank to discover that it came from Paypal. HIs bank finally theorized that one of Paypal's employees took my hubby's number as he only used once many years back. Needless to say, Paypal didn't want to cover the loses as they were so large. You have to make a vigilant effort to watch all cards as you never know who lurks out there to steal your information. IT SUCKS!!!
