I think it's time we showed our faces after posting here anonymously yea these many years.

Here's a shot of Pixiamom and me back in the 1950's (I didn't say the pictures had to be CURRENT!):

I'm the bald one under the V in Virgilio buying oranges.

And now I'll try a half dozen times to get this to appear.

The kid in the blue jacket is my 2nd son Tyler (then 11). This was in Rome at the Campo De Fiori. I hate having my picture taken, so this was a rare shot.

More shots of Rome, Equador & the Galapagos, London, and South Africa at web.mac.com/berwickdohrn ... and a link to John's (my first son) Flickr photos. And all free, although it's sometimes slow to load.

I gave up trying to make the web site a link; copy and paste it into your browser if you're interested; just make sure to say WEB.mac rather than the more usual WWW.mac

Claude - your son is a fabulous photographer! How old is he now? Looks like best of National Geographic! Didn't have time to study much but I really love the Pea one!

Thank you for your kind words. John will be turning 18 next month. I'm very proud of him. He isn't much for school, but he's very smart and has learned a lot of the science around photography. Strobist.com, a site for flash photography, has given him assignments, and dubbed him "Lord of the Flies" for his macro work.

I would say that John has found his calling. I can't remember when I've seen any better photos - published or not.

Thanks, ebabe. I'll tell John, who is a bit discouraged by the difficulty in getting jobs, due in large part to his youth. He can't even sign a contract; we have to do it for him. But, he'll be 18 in March, and will then be considered fully legal. People are still leery of hiring him to do events because he looks, if anything, younger than he is, so he tries to get jobs as (what is called) a "second shooter" at weddings, bar mitzvahs, anniversary parties, etc.

OK, enough about me, where are the other people's photos?

Karen, now that you mention it, had I thought that he was female, Tom's posts would have gotten me so hot that I'd become a stalker.

Which waterfall is it Stone? Multnomah?

I wish I were on your beach now Neva - going to snow inches tonight and then another arctic blast to follow!

Photo - I wear glasses too though they usually are on top of my head. Wonderful doll in your photo too.

Amber - you don't look old enough to be a grandmother! Must have been a child bride.

ewora - love your poodle skirts! What kind of music do you sing?

Tom - I do believe I see that nose growing after all. Next Classic (is he on permanent VD board vacation?) will be posting his from the Navy.
