the buyer and seller would each have up to 30-60 days to give feedback. the feedback or who posted it would not be publicly visible until last day in which both would appear. This would totally eliminate retaliation by either side. The feedback score itself would be visible so buyers/sellers could spot the crooks.
Ramifications to what ebay propposes:
(1) the bad sellers will simply get alternate IDs as their accounts are restricted. New credt cards, debit cards, addresses, phone numbers and ISP numbers are readily available for this
(2) sellers can buy from competitor and give negs and low dsr ratings to kill their competition. I a seller sells 100 items each month and has 10.00 items, buyer only has to spend $50.00 to put him out of business. Of course the buyer would need five seperate IDs for that.
(3) buyers can more easily extort sellers
(4) sellers who have huge feedback will become frustrated and resort to #1 and because feedback now means nothing their performance will be less important to them
I have been on since 99 and just broke 5000
on one id and 2500 on another. I will lose most of this in the new deal.
(5) ebay is creating many enemies. The network has created ebay and these network enemies may destroy ebay
All in All this "new deal" is going to be very detrimental to ebays overall situation.
They have totally detroyed any remnant of "community". It is us verses them baby.
Ebay has told us to build our feedback up since its conception and now they will erase it as if it never happened, what a betrayal.
