I just read this on the eBay announcement board. I didn't realize the the feedbacks from repeat buyers were going to be retroactive, but that is what this seems to be saying.
"Hello...this is Brian Burke, Director of Feedback Policy at eBay. As the Community knows, several changes were announced in January as part of Evolving Feedback. Our first change gives sellers and buyers the opportunity to earn up to one Feedback point per week (Monday through Sunday, Pacific time) from the same trading partner.
We've begun providing credit for repeat Feedback for transactions ending on or after Tuesday, February 19th. We've also made some cosmetic changes to the Feedback Profile page to reflect this change. What's more – coming in May, we will provide credit for ALL repeat transactions that occurred between 1996 and February 2008. (We'll be introducing the other Feedback changes announced in January in that timeframe, as well"
I am wondering what some of your repeat buyers % is. Last month mine was 44%, so it looks as if I am in for a big feedback increase.

I have a 3100 feedback difference...hoping that most are positive....it will be nice...it has to raise the % up at least a point or so.

I don't think it will raise the % - I think the % will be computed on the past 12 months' FB starting soon.

I have a 3,700 difference, I wonder how many of those will transalate into feedback, it will be interesting to see. I only need 41 more positives to get to 100% positive feedback rate again.

I will still have puny feedback.
Those of you who have non-puny feedback numbers, do you ever worry that too much feedback is s turn off to buyers? I've heard some other sellers express that fear and know a couple who have started over once they hit 5,000 and 10,000 for that reason.

not complaining here...but in the past week or so, I've had a few buyers leave positive feedback right when they paid for the item???? I don't buy that much on eBay...have they changed something that "makes" the buyers respond quicker???

I rarely even read my negative feedback, but this weekend I'm going to go through all of it and leave appropriate responses. I've already started and boy it feels good to leave some richly-deserved return negs.
The irony is that the few people who truly should neg me don't. I occasionally let a shipment get past me -- it goes out a week late -- that's probably negworthy. But I won't get one for that.
What I get instead is one from a lazy beeyotch who won't go pick up her mail at the post office, another from a deadbeat (oh yeah, she responded to the UPI, thanks a lot eBay), a third from an unhappy person who says she returned the item but can't explain why I haven't gotten it, etc.
But feedback is so TRUTHFUL, don't ya know, it so accurately depicts the buyer's experience. On some planet, that is, just not THIS one.

I've had the same experience. My ID, during my tenure, had IIRC 8 negatives and none were deserved. OTOH, there must have been 100 people who didn't get the quality of service that they had a right to expect. However, I find that if you try to make amends for mistakes with a good faith effort, people understand and don't leave a negative.
