I had a bidder who won an auction. My Vendio calculator in my auction listing shows the proper shipping rates of $40.10 for USPS, and $30.00 for Fed Ex... however I scroll down further to the bottom of my auction and find another shipping calculator that again takes the bidder to Vendio that gives a much different quote of only $16.40... ironically the bidder paid using Paypal and only paid $12.50 for shipping via USPS. I have no earthly idea where these erroneous shipping quotes are coming from.

Actually, the $16.40 quote was based on my own zip code since I was registered. I changed that to the bidders zip code and the price matched. Now to figure out where in the world the bidder came up with $12.50 shipping since they don't have the option to change the shipping price. The only thing I can come up with is they manually sent payment via Paypal and made up their shipping.

For a few hours on Thursday, 3/6/08, buyers using Calculated Shipping to determine United States Postal Service (USPS) Parcel Post or Priority Mail costs were receiving incorrect amounts. This may have resulted in buyers paying incorrect totals for their items between 4:30pm and 7:45pm PST.
The issue is now resolved, and we apologize for any confusion this situation may have caused.
PROBABLY STILL NOT FIXED!! I had a problem with MULTIPLE ITEM invoices a couple weeks ago. Invoice for ONE item was fine...try to send invoice for multiple items and it was SUBTRACTING amounts for every item added. It was only happening on 1st class postage...ebay online live help was NO help...she told me to make sure I was clicking envelope not package...finally disconnected and called ebay..it was a gliche at their end that they fixed pretty quick.

Whew! Thanks for the info. I didn't see an announcement on vendio, but found the link to ebay's announcement which I forwarded to the bidder for a logical explanation regarding the paypal refund and request for corrected shipping.
I thought I was losing my mind or the bidder sent a manual payment and created their own shipping rate.
For a few hours on Thursday, 3/6/08, listings using the shipping calculator to determine United States Postal Service (USPS) Parcel Post and Priority Mail costs were calculating incorrect amounts. This may have resulted in some buyers being undercharged for shipping between 4:30pm and 7:45pm PST. The issue was caused by a bug which has been corrected.
This issue impacted a very small number of listings and sellers. Sellers who were impacted will automatically receive a credit from eBay for the missing postage. The credit will be issued to sellers’ eBay accounts in the next few days.
We regret any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

THAT IS THE SCARY PART...The buyer I dealt with had no problem with me cancelling the payment and sending a revised invoice. Shaggy...wait for the credit then refund originally payment and rebill the buyer....
