A friend of mine has this set and has tried to find out if someone could tell her what the pattern is or anything about it. It is Made in Japan. Thanks..now if I can only get the picture to do right.

McJane--if you take out the "thumbs." part, the picture will be large.

Thank you so much..I think there are some of the smartest people on this board!! Now..anyone have any ideas..age, pattern. The friend it belongs to says it was her grandmothers. That is all I know about it.

I don't have the set at my home and she emailed me the pictures. I emailed her and this is her reply (if it helps any).

yes there is some sort of little 3 leaf looking things.It is 3 little leaf looking things with gold fronds sticking up out of them.The words handpainted are in green and the words made in Japan are in gold color

It appears to be raised. I will email her to make sure but I remember her telling me that is almost looked like it was carved.

She said the designs are raised and textured. She said she had tried and tried to get a picture of the bottom but it never came out where you could tell what it was.

I also would say Moriage..it looks as though the rims are beaded.
