I am a small time seller, usually post 30 to 40 items a week under books and collectibles, but I have been doing this long enough to have over 3000 positives. I usually have a deadbeat every 2 or 3 months, but in April I have had 5 non payers. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

gas between $4 and $5 a gallon

milk closing in at the same price

mortgage and/or rent prices

airline - hotel - resorts prices skyrocketing

the time to spend money for widgets on eBay is fading....

I also am in shock over the number this past month that are problems.

I have had TWO non-paying bidders in the last 18 months and now in April I filed FIVE!

I have never since 2002 had any type of PayPal dispute either and this morning there is one the Bank has reversed as the buyer says it was an 'unauthorised purchase'.

Time for a break from the insanity.

I had one in April. Sold item, waited 10 days, filed NPB, buyer replied still wanted item, sending check. Waited 10 more days, filed for my fees. BUYER STARTS DISPUTE, STATING ITEM NOT RECEIVED. Knob.

Some are waiting a week before they pay.

Just because prices of goods and staples go up does not mean they should be deadbeats, they should not be bidding if they have no intention of paying.
I have just one dead beat from UK,some one with a strange name said the item is too scary for him!

I have also had 5 in the last couple of months. One had only 3 feedbacks. I sent a total of 7 emails, filed for NPB, still nothing. I relisted the item and it sold the same day. One week later, a check arrived, 5 weeks after the auction closed. I have written again and explained the situation, still no response. I am holding the check, I don't want to pay postage to return it when I have already lost my listing fees. I have offered an alternative color of yarn. It's very hard to deal with people who won't communicate.

Tear up the check and forget about it.

Knock on wood - I've been lucky. No deadbeats lately.

Linen and things just filed for bankruptcy.
Some of your bidders could have just lost their jobs,Wall Street would be 36,000,Sun Micro is laying off a few thousands, what about those mortgage brokers, real estate brokers, appraisers sitting home with no paycheck.
This is hard time for many!
