Now that we have another month behind us, how does it compare to fees before the rate change? I have to admit, mine are about 25% less than they were before, mainly due to the reduced store listing fees.

Mine are a lot less because I mainly sell media items, which saw a further reduction. That, combined with a 15% discount on FVF because I actually have my DSR's (finally) at 4.8 and higher help as well. I still don't do too much selling on the main site, but that will change as I recently purchased a warehouse full of software and other items that I am going to be selling online.

ebayvet: I haven't paid as much attention as I should to the fee changes. Do we get that discount on the FVFs just because our DSRs are very good, or do we have to be power sellers in addition?

You have to be a power seller to enjoy that 15% discount .
I am not a powerseller,my fee is higher,no thnaks to the new FVF.

Not to sound like I'm complaining but...
how does THIS work?
You earned a 15% PowerSeller discount
A 15% discount off your Final Value Fees is applied to the invoice dated below.

Applied to invoice: 04/30/08
eBay calculated your PowerSeller discount on 04/21/08.

Calculated on 4/21?
Well. not sure how or why the almighty ebay selected that date but my current dashboard for the past five days has my qualifying for the 5%, not 15%.

April sales/fees not yet calculated on sellers reports but comparing Feb to March:
fees 10% of sales Feb
fees 13% of sales March (w/ 15% ps discount)

Another question. Do they average the DSR so that if you have 4.9 4.9 4.8 4.7 you get the discount of 15%.
I don't think it really matter in my case. I got the 5% and it was only $6.50 so 15% still won't amount to much.

Zoomin: I was about to start a thread. These blankity blank stars are cr*p with a capital C!!I kept looking at my dashboard and 1 DAY, 1Day my shipping slipped below the 15%, one day. I kept waiting to get my invoice since last month it was on 3/31, seller discount calculated on 3/26. Invoice finally shows up today stars calculated on 4/25!! Guess what, one day my stars got dinged, go figure!!

All of stars as of today, which do not matter are at 4.9 or higher.

Then I wade through my bill trying to figure out what the heck I am getting as a discount and it is $12.08 and the explanation says it was based on 2/2-2/28!!!

Does this make sense to anyone else?? I am going to go more research and find more facts and figures, but this is monkey business. Ebay needs to be accountable for what exactly this discount practice is.

They do not average the DSRs together. Yours can all be 5s, but if you have one 4.7 on the day they figure it, you will get 5%.

My fees were 7.7% of total sales this month -- a little lower than usual.

I have two discounts: One for 2-20 to 2-29, and one for "this billing cycle" which is April. And the day they did the calculation for April was supposedly a day one star dipped ....

I thought your shipping and handling charge has to be 4.8.
Anyway,it may just be easier if you just slip an extra 25c-35c to shipping and forget about the discount.

Since I used Gallery on all my items store and core, I am enjoying a smaller bill. I got a 15% discount which I won't complain about and I raised my prices. My average price per item is increasing $1/month over the past three months according to my Sales Reports.

I *think* my fees are lower but sales have been lower this month while in Oregon so it's hard to tell. I did get the 15% FVF discount by some miracle. My average shipping time DSR dipped at the end of the month (and will probably be a disaster next month) but they determined the average on April 22nd ??? weird !

It is powerseller, and a minimum of 4.8 in every category. When I was first able to check, I was 4.7 in shipping but that changed to 4.8 so I get the 15% off.

One thing I see that is very flawed in all of the posts here is the fact that most are only looking to see what the discount percentage was. The flaw is in the fact that your discount is based upon the mega raise in FVF's. This is comparing apples to oranges.

To get a true accounting, you will need to compare your total fees to a similar month before the fee hikes. It comes down to total dollars in fees and those, in the overall aspect, went UP.

stone:
I quoted fees as a percent of sales ~ mentioning that those fees were at a 15% 'discounted' rate.
(ha! some discount!!!)

You dont have to compare to prior month, just take the current month listings and apply FVF and Listing fee under the old way and then the new way.
I think it is cheaper under the new way.
say if you list just one item at 9.99 and it is sold at 10 dollars-
under the old way, listing fee and gallery fee is 70 cents and final value fee is 6% so it is 60 cents, total is 1.30
under new system-
listing fee is 35 cents and final value fee is 80 cents,so total is 1.15
( I dont remember exactly how much is gallery fee and final value fee of old and new way,I just use 6% and 8 %)
