Auction #160238295334 is for many pieces of restaurant plates, bowls, etc. In Search it indicates FREE shipping and on the auction page at top left at the small photo there is an orange nickel-size sign which says Free shipping and at the bottom of the page, it says Free Shipping...BUT, the narrative clearly says PICK UP ONLY. I understand the necessity for pick up only, but isn't it bad manners to list it as FREE SHIPPING? Am I beign too picky?

Your only alternative (I think?) is to give a price for the shipping, but that wouldn't be honest, either. I've never sold on a pick-up-only basis. Someone here will have a better answer.

Seller made an error in the listing form. He/She should have indicated "Local Pick-up" only in the "ships to" part of the form. This would be shown right under the Free Shipping part at the top instead of "other".

yes... what neglus said... it is really hard to "pick" what shipping is in some of the online lister programs, as well as ebay's listing program .... a lot of people /sellers make this mistake.

If she were a regular seller I might suspect her of listing "free shipping" in order to place better in Best Match but she's not so I agree she probably just didn't know what else to do.
