Hope everybody had a relaxing holiday.

I know this is probaly a Marketing 101 question but I am wanting to send a coupon with my orders offering Free Shipping with orders of $20.00 or more when they pay with check/money order.

Has anyone else done something similar and if so how did it work out?

Hi Greg. I used to send a coupon for free shipping with your next order from my Vendio shop. I got a few takers.

Its worth a shot depending on what you sell and how its set up.
For example if the widgets you sell cost 9.99 I would not buy 3 in order to get free shipping.

I have very few repeat customers, in books and collectibles, so a coupon offer wouldn't be an option for me.

We sell among other things collectibles and offer FREE shipping for repeat customer that order via our website. Our eBay S&H costs are more than enough to cover listing and FV fees so if they buy direct we pass on the savings. We get around a 45% take-up rate, and many customer buy one item on eBay then visit our website to buy more (since our direct prices are cheaper than our prices on eBay).

Works for us. YMMV...

If you can save their Ebay ID or email address in your system so they automatically get a discount when they place an order on your site,it will save them the trouble of finding and typing your coupon .
Most will misplace or throw the coupons out if they dont use them soon.
